Frida Project Foundation presents the special project «50 years of luminaries of 60s in art», its name speaks for itself. Within the project scope works of three artists will be exposed Their names are known well enough – Francisco Infante, Jan Saudek, Andrey Gennadiev. On one hand, the authors are very different, and it is obvious for any viewer who has a possibility to watch their works in immediate closeness to each other.

Francisco Infante – a dreamer and a designer, somewhat kinetists, conceptualist. He contributed to the art having created the «Artefacts» in early seventies. The idea of the project is quite simple – man-made object is introdused to a natural landscape aiming to create an illusory integrity with it. For example, he obscures skyline by a color fascia fixed with an invisible fishing line, or creates a complex reflection-distortion using mirrors. The resulting construction is shooted on a photographic film. Even today, the «Artefacts» amaze by their originality.

Jan Saudek was born in 1935 in Czechoslovakia. They say that the sources of his inspiration are usually in surrealism or classical painting. Now he is considered as «cult» author due to his erotic compositions that show the most nontrivial aspects of sexuality. His works by itself are the objects of quite aesthetic and platonic cult since long time. The ambiguity of Jan Saudek’s photos is that they look so old that it seems everyone who posed for them simply could not live up to nowadays.

Andrei Gennadiev, an artist from Saint Petersburg usually attributed to the masters of the so-called «unofficial» art, who declared themselves in the seventies. Nevertheless, their work opens to wide audience only today. The Andrei Gennadiev’s life was not simple, sometimes even tragic. He even got to «black list» after one of shows. His works are always recognizable. They attract by its color refinement, internal culture, integrity of images and virtuosity of implementation. But the most important thing about Gennadiev’s works is emotional and meaningful content.

It is obvious that artists differ from each other in many respects. Each of them has his own peculiar destiny, as a human and as an author, nevertheless they have something in common. All of them are masters of the same generation. Each of them in different way reflected the spirit of the time, which left an imprint on their work. Besides, these authors advert to the artistic heritage of the past and interpret it in their original manner. Due to all these factors, it is very interesting to observe and study the works of presented artists, constantly discovering in them new facets.
