Beschreibung

Frida Project Foundation presents works of two Russian contemporary artists Margo Trushina and Vlad Gansovsky specially for the trade fair «Interlight Moscow powered by Light+Building». The feature of works exhibited at the stand is that they were made with use of modern lighting technologies. That is what links them to the main theme of the trade fair.

In her practice Margo Trushina addressing the problem of human presence, but the answers she is giving are of a philosophical, melancholic nature – they open a space for self-forgetfulness in times when self-consciousness, reason and rational knowledge have taken over the realm of feelings and emotions.

One of her recent projects «Sublime and Instruction» consist of series of constructed images, where paradoxes and metaphors are rendered with minimalist elegance, addresses eternal topics through the use of new media (the works are implemented in mixed media – a combination of photography prints, video, LED lightning, metallic sculptures and multi-media installations). Margo Trushina rendered the flat didacticism of printed images and the cold surfaces of technological experience into punchy, but delicate sculptures and installations, or «physical environments». Working extencively with texture and fabric of digital image and meditating on new technologies, artist reaches a powerful effect of the overwhelming experience of mystification and «artificial» sublime.

«My art philosophy is ultimate openness, both spiritual and physical», says about his work Vlad Gansovsky. The artist prefers to call the genre he works in a «nude portrait». At the same time nudity for him is a symbol of openness to the world. The artist is mostly interested in showing the inner world of a person. In his works Vlad tries to expose it and to render the personality of a model. The artist is constantly searching for new characters – and emotionality attracts him mostly.

The works of Vlad Gansovsky seem to tell spectators about forgotten or even nameless feelings, vivid emotions created by the artist’s lively imagination.

Works of the presented artists may look quite different at first sight. But they definitely have something in common: both of them address rather traditional and well-known themes interpreting them in their own original manner. And what is particularly important – Margo and Vlad use modern lighting technologies to realize their conceptions. This exposition is one of the finest examples of use of the latest technical developments in art.
